Three Bicycle Routes
Riders can take their pick of three rides, with an option for a 100-mile day as well.
- 100 Mile Flight — 100 miles (moderate to strenuous) Capture the best the Central Coast has to offer on this route that passes historic wineries before arriving at the gateway to Pinnacles National Monument. Rolling hills are punctuated with a few short climbs. Experience the kind of California you didn’t think existed any more.
- Centennial Challenge — 100 kilometers (moderate to strenuous) leaves from San Juan Oaks Golf & Country Club and takes riders through little-traveled roads to Pinnacles National Monument. Riders can opt to spend the night at Pinnacles, with a courtesy equipment shuttle, or to make the loop in a day, returning in time for a post-ride feast. An unsupported option is a trip to the top of Fremont Peak, making the Centennial Challenge a difficult century ride.
- Cienega Valley Wine Trail — 40 miles (moderate to easy) A rolling ride of ** miles leads riders to ** local wineries offering samples of some of California’s most distinguished wines. Grape vines will be at their most colorful this time of year, and riders can anticipate stunning scenery and weather along this route.
- San Juan Valley Ride — 20 miles (families and beginners) This flat ramble through farm fields leads riders past historic packing sheds and into California’s most verdant salad bowl. A rest stop in San Juan Bautista gives participants a chance to explore historic buildings and state parks surrounding Mission San Juan Bautista. This is a perfect introduction to cycling for families and casual cyclists.
